ORT Jet, a division of ORT SA will be hosting their annual call-a-thon fundraiser on the 17th and 18th of March in aid of supporting local entrepreneurs. For the first time ever, it will be held live on Zoom while volunteers will be making calls from home, asking for donations from the public. People can expect a fun day with amazing prizes to be won!

ORT Jet is appealing to the community to get involved in this important initiative and for volunteers to give an hour or more of their time. This will help them reach their goal which is to make R1million in 48 hours.  People will be encouraged to call their friends, family and networks. They will also be provided with extra contact lists from ORT Jet for calling and support on the day. Donors are welcome to make a donation beforehand so they can reach their goal faster.

Students will also have the opportunity to obtain community service hours by participating in this event. They will need to register on www.communityhourssa.co.za and choose ORT Jet call-a-thon as their charity.

ORT Jet has impacted so many lives. “We respect and care for all individuals on our programme and have assisted them with our hands on intervention, by offering exceptional resources, training, business rescue initiatives and exceptional mentorship” said training and events coordinator, Tracey Catania.

In addition, while keeping in line with their mission which is to facilitate business growth, the team adapted swiftly to the Global Pandemic in 2020 to continue empowering and guiding businesses.

“Small local businesses need our support more than ever before. The part you play will not only help our community businesses survive, but you will feel amazing by having helped others” said ORT Jet HOD, Helene Itzkin
