Rules

Who can enter?

•Start up – A business that has been trading within one year prior to the submission of the application.

•Concept- A business that has not yet started at the time of submission of the application.

•Entries may be submitted by individuals or teams. There is no limit to the number of people in a team.

•Winners of previous ORT JET /Eureka competitions may not enter again.

How many categories of winners are there?

There will be a first and second place winner in both the Start-up and Concept categories.

How to enter?

•Each completed form must be submitted to the Eureka Entrepreneurial Competition at ORT JET, together with a signed copy of the rules.
All questions in the entry form must be answered.

•The entry must include a two-minute video that answers brief questions included in the entry form.

•Entries must be submitted online to businessplan@ortjet.org.za.

•All submissions must be the original work of those entering the competition. No software generated or internet sourced business plans will be accepted.

•Ownership of any intellectual property contained in the business plans submitted will vest with the contestants.

•Each entrant to this competition is responsible for securing and protecting their intellectual property rights.

•Prizes are subject to change without notice.

•The closing date for the competition is midnight 1 July 2015. •No submissions will be accepted after this date under any circumstances.

•Partially completed entries will not be accepted.

Conditions of entry
•The prizes are to be used for the purposes of implementing the business idea that is entered.

•Applicants will be disqualified if they attempt to approach any of the judges of the competition, or if someone doesso on their behalf, with regard to the competition.

Expectations:

The finalists will be expected to:

•Attend the Lean Start Up training (2 & 3 August 2015).

•Attend the start up Bootcamp, (failure to do so will result in the candidate forfeiting all prizes).

•Be available for photo shoots and be willing to feature in any media or marketing medium in relation to the competition.

•Present the Business idea to the Pitching judging panel (8 September 2015).

•Finalists will be responsible for their own transport and accommodation in order to attend training and pitch to the judging panels in Johannesburg.

•The two-minute video that is submitted with the entry will be shown on Facebook and other social media platforms with your permission.

Competition Rules

Rights of the competition organizers:

•ORT JET reserves the right to exercise their sole discretion to alter, amend and/or supplement these competition rules at any time.

•Any changes will be communicated to the participants by publication on the ORT JET website at www.ortjet.org.za.

•The decisions of the judges, including interpretation of the competition rules, are final and may not be appealed.

•Entries will be judged according to;

•The most practical idea.

•The most innovative and creative type of business

•A sustainable business model.

•Successful motivation on why the business is entering the competition

Failure to adhere to any of these competition rules in part or in full will result in the immediate disqualification of the entrant to the competition.
